Are stem cells right treatement for inherited brain cancer?

Ataxia telangiectasia is a inherited cancer.Can stem cells became a tumor too? I think the best could be to silence the gene expression in stead.The cells could be transplanted in a advanced phase (differenciated) to avoid many divisions in another case and be sure to have a better spreading.
