Minor errors

Posted by Alastair_Matheson on 05 Sep 2011 at 16:16 GMT

medical writer Alastair Matheson [7], takes a critical look at the rules of authorship for medical journals, as laid down by the International Committee for Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). On the basis of over 20 years' experience in the medical communications sector

A coupple of errors in the way this article describes me: (1) I have 18 years' experience in the pharma and medical communications sectors, not over 20 as stated; (2) I only worked full-time in the sector for 18 months. The rest of the time I was a part-time freelancer, spending much time on other activities including academic work; (3) Whereas I have done and still do some medical writing, must of my experience within the sector has been in other activities such as product profiling, competitor analysis and publications planning; (4) My views are not based on working experience alone but also research - I have previously published in this feld from the standpoint of science studies.
