In the recent editorial entitled "Lethal Injection Is Not Humane," the following question is posed:
"Why was capital punishment illegal for a decade until it was reinstated by a Supreme Court ruling in 1976?"
Trouble is, the death penalty was not illegal for a decade, but only for the four years between Furman v. Georgia, 408 U,.S. 238, 92 S.Ct. 2726 (1972), and Gregg v. Georgia, 428 U.S. 153, 96 S.Ct. 2909 (1976).
