Fowlers T, Steakley C, Garcia AR et al. have highlighted a very important topic which usually does not get significant attention. Though different aspects of patient navigation have been elucidated very elaborately, the information about the navigators, nature of the job and their recruitment seems to be deficient. Who are these navigators? Are they doctors, medical students, community health workers, social workers, relatives of patients or ordinary people? Whether they are volunteers or they are paid for this work? Is it a full time job or navigators can do it with other duties? How other people can become a navigator? The answers to these very basic questions are still unclear to me.
