The trial reported by David Menkes and Christian Subbe in their e-letter [1] was formally submitted as 'A Randomised, Controlled Trial to Examine the Effect of Citalopram on Health Status, Anxiety and Depression in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease' and approved by North East Wales Local Research Ethics Committee (Pwyllgor Moeseg Ymchwil Dwyrain Gogleddd Cymru). Trial registration details will follow, and we have asked the authors to formally submit the trial report to PLoS ONE.
