SYGL-1 and LST-1 are sufficient to drive the stem cell state

SYGL-1 (pink) and LST-1 (orange) proteins are expressed in the germline stem cell pool at the distal tip of the C. elegans gonad. These key stem cell regulators link Notch signaling from the niche with the downstream RNA regulatory network that controls stem cell self-renewal and differentiation. See Shin, Haupt et al.
