closeOther mice mutant in Zdhhc genes
Posted by ian_jackson on 28 Jun 2010 at 10:58 GMT
The authors claim in the Introduction that there is only one other previously reported mouse DHHC deficiency, which is the Zdhhc8 knockout. In fact we published in 2009 in PLoS Genetics the phenotype of deficiency of Zdhhc21 (Mill et al, PLoS Genet. 2009 Nov;5(11):e1000748. Epub 2009 Nov 26). Interestingly the phenotype of these mice (which are homozygous for the depilated mutation) is principally hair loss similar to that seen in the Zdhhc13 mutant mice.
