the csm4Δ mutant exhibited a modest reduction in interference in all four intervals analyzed

The significance indicators for the NPD entries in Table 2 are occasionally wrong. For instance: (i) the last entry in the csm4Δ row has a p value of 0.02, which should have been indicated by *; (ii) the last entry in the msh5Δ row should have no * since the p value is 0.91; (iii) the last entry in the mlh1 cms4 row should have no * since the p value is 0.37.
