Cell fate specification in C. elegans visualized with blue and yellow fluorescent proteins expressed in the primary and secondary vulval precursor cells, respectively. The markers were used to observe the temporal order in the activation of EGFR and LIN-12/Notch signaling pathways as predicted by computational modeling (see Fisher et al, e92).
