Genetic diversity in dog breeds.

The two dog breeds shown demonstrate the high level of diversity seen in dog breeds (see Boyko et al., e 1000451). The larger black dog is an Afghan hound, which is a classic sight hound. The smaller white dog is a Chihuahua mix and is among the smallest of the domestic dog breeds. In addition to body size, the dogs differ in fur length and texture, skull shape, and leg length.
