Pie diameter is proportional to the species total degree. Ellipses around groups of species represent the multiplex clusters. Numbers correspond to the cluster ID used in the main text. Clusters of the same color have similar 3D connectivity but differ in the identity of interacting species; i.e., they belong to the same “multiplex functional group” defined later on.
