Reconstruction of the original colors of the dorsal surface of the fossil lepidopterans.

The dominant hue of basal and discal to postdiscal zones of the wing is blue today (in air) but was originally yellow-green. Postdiscal to submarginal wing zones were originally green-cyan and blue, and the outer wing margin, brown.
