Metabolic syndrome & PCOS

This study is very interesting. I suffer from insulin resistance, thus have "metabolic syndrome," but since I also exhibit other female only symptoms, my doctors have classified it as polycystic ovarian syndrome. But, it's the same thing as Syndrome X. I'm not a scientist, so I only understand the outlying information, but what can be done in humans to reverse insulin resistance? Would something like a stool transplant (injecting healthy stool into an insulin resistant person's gut) change the bacterial profile of the insulin resistant to healthy? I've struggled for more than 10 years with this ... so I'm really happy to know there are scientists out there working on the problem!
