Rationale:
I’m trying to generate some cross-disciplinary interest in the fact that many, if not most, G protein-coupled receptors are thiol sensitive proteins.

Our proposal is that in vivo receptors exist as an equilibrium between oxidized (disulfide) and reduced (free thiol) forms (depending on the physiological REDOX milieu), but for many GPCRs, it is the reduced form that functions as the R and R* states.
