Not all parents of autistic children blame vaccines. And many of us were actively opposing the anti-vaccine message long before most professionals took it seriously.

Two professionals who have consistently adopted a public stance in support of vaccines have both acknowledged our contribution recently. Dr Mike Fitzpatrick in his book, "Defeating Autism; a dangerous delusion" (Routledge 2009) and Dr Paul Offitt in "Autism's False Prophets (Columbia University Press 2008)

Competing interests declared: My son is autistic and my income derives in part from teaching autitic hildren and writing and lecturing on autism.
